Has this Lisbon sun come to stay? As the weather people will tell you, who knows! But the recent summer weather has officially (and predictably) gotten me in the mood to spend some money on flowy dresses and unwalkable sandals. I’ll keep myself and my wallet on a tight leash for the time being, but that doesn’t mean I can’t talk about some the things I’d like to buy, and all the things I’ve been enjoying lately. Scroll at your own risk.
🛍 Coveting
If you’re a trinket girl like me, The Sage Vintage is about to become your favorite vintage jewellery brand. They’re a US-based business selling the prettiest charm bracelets and necklaces, and I’m in love with everything they sell. Some of my faves include this Gold Aries Necklace and the Ballet Bow Earrings.
2024 Carrie Bradshaw would most definitely be buying shoes at Larroudé. My favorite styles are the Blair Ballet Flat In Kiwi Satin, the Flora Pump In Blue Stoned Denim and the Magnolia Mule In Cerulean Blue Leather (gasp!!).
🧴👡 Wearing & Using
This Desigual dress I got on sale. I can only find it on Desigual Macao, but I’ve seen it around Poshmark too. It’s from a collaboration with fashion designer María Escoté and I love the psychedelic print! I have my eye on their new collab with Collina Strada, too.
Spring jackets: Thanks to the sunny weather, I was able to dust off this green pleather jacket that, to be honest, I very rarely wear (it’s always either too cold or too hot for it). Speaking of spring jackets, I just added a vintage pink racing jacket to my collection. Should I write a post about my Spring jacket collection?
The K18 Leave-in Molecular Repair Hair Mask has saved my bleached hair. If you have dry and/or damaged hair, it is absolutely worth the splurge!
🍰 Eating
I made lasagna for the first time (I conveniently chose to make it for lunch on a weekday! I think I ate at 3pm) and this was the recipe. It was chef’s kiss.
I also baked a ricotta and tangerine cake that turned out delicious and was very easy to make. The post is in Portuguese, but you can find the recipe in English in the comments section.
📚 Reading
I just finished rereading an old favorite, Bunny, and it was just as fun as it was the first time around. I don’t usually reread books, no matter how much I love them, but it was interesting to annotate my copy as I picked up on little details I missed the first time. If you decide to pick it up this Spring, avoid reviews; the less you know about it going in, the better.
I’ve also been enjoying the Spring/Summer 2024 edition of anOther Magazine. I haven’t purchased a magazine in years, and as someone who grew up avidly reading them, I’ve missed the ritual of using them as offline sources of inspiration more than anything. You can read more about my love of magazines here.
🎬 Watching
After finishing The O.C., I started watching Suits. It’s what you’d expect from a commercial legal drama - quite repetitive and cliché, but then again, that’s what makes comfort shows comforting. I just started season 7.
I was a teenager when I watched Girls for the first time, but the show is resonating on a whole other level now that I’m rewatching it in my late 20s. Not only are the themes perfect echoes of things both myself and my girlfriends have gone through, I also have a newfound appreciation for its incredible writing. Brilliant show!
Also: last year’s season of Love Island and Fallout, which I’m loving!
🎧 Listening to
Cowboy Carter, obviously. My list of favorites includes Bodyguard, Ameriican Requiem, Levii’s Jeans and Protector.
That new Hozier song (you know the one).
I’ve been fascinated by Laila Gohar’s work for a while, so I looked for podcast interviews with her and found this episode of More than One Thing. Give it a listen if you’re interested in hearing from multi-hyphenate creatives with non-linear career paths.
💭 Thinking about
No one loves early 2000s movies more than I do, but do we really need all these sequels and spinoffs? In the past couple of weeks, I’ve seen announcements of sequels in the works for John Tucker Must Die, Legally Blonde, Freaky Friday and Bridget Jones. Remaking movies (or making sequels decades later) isn’t usually successful, and as much as I’m excited to see some of my favorite characters on screen again, I would much rather see writers and directors focus on new stories. I’m sure it’s possible to revisit the Y2K magic we all miss with new characters and storylines; Do Revenge and Bottoms are both proof of that.
What happens to all the leftover cake in Is It Cake? Especially the prop cakes they make for the small “find that cake” challenge at the beginning of each episode? I have questions.

The book bunny was my window into the world of weird girlie books.
Reading that book was like a fever dream to me. No matter what others say I love it. 💌
